We walk our dogs 1/2 to 3/4 miles sometimes twice a day on our residential street in the winter. We feel safe on ice and snow and on the patches of clear pavement. We have had St. Bernards, Newfoundlands and Golden Retrievers who can be friskie. at times. I've also found the Sure Grips to work well when hiking on rough winter terrain in the woods. The grippers do wear out after two or three years so these will will be about our 10th or 12th pair.
