| Customer Reviews: Could Be More Durable February 5, 2010 Cori S. (USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The description is pretty accurate, as long as you wear these ONLY to keep your clothing dry in moderate activity, and not for anything strenuous. After less than a week of wear for gardening, the seat is all scuffed up and there is a hole in the leg--not even in the seat or knees where the main wear was, but a random hole in the upper leg! They do seem to be nice-looking, roomy enough to put clothing under them and lightweight enough to put clothing over them, and adequately waterproof, but a real disappointment in durability. Another thing to watch out for is when the jacket zipper was put in, the top end is cut leaving little pieces of zipper pull sticking out which feel like needles to the neck, so you'll want to have embroidery scissors or something to cut off these ends before you can wear it. I'm still hoping for something lightweight, breathable, waterproof, and DURABLE enough for gardening and other outdoor activity!
P. S. Due to the consistency of the fabric (sort of like plastic-coated tissue) I hesitated to use needle and thread on the hole, so tried an iron-on patch. DISASTER! NEVER CONSIDER wearing this garment in a car, on a plane, or anywhere else you might be exposed to the least bit of heat. The iron was not that hot and the fabric absolutely MELTED! Had to use tape to close the holes after all. (Don't know how well that will hold up in the wash--maybe I'll figure out something else by then.) Less than a week and my new pants are starting to look as bad as the old ones. BUYER BEWARE!
Thank God for Amazon.com's Returns policy because these are on their way back!
